Ms. Karina Drees is an entrepreneur, a ‘07 MBA candidate at the MIT Sloan School of Management, and Chair of the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition. Run entirely by student volunteers, the MIT $100K has become known around the world as the leading business plan competition as it serves as a launchpad for aspiring entrepreneurs at MIT and within the Boston community with the goal of creating tomorrow’s leading firms by bringing MIT-developed technologies to the world market. With a passion for entrepreneurship, Karina is an advocate for creating competitions to bring about innovation. While at MIT, she collaborated with world leader in space travel entrepreneurship and innovation Dr. Peter Diamandis, and helped the X PRIZE Foundation launch its two most recent prizes for automotive technology and genomics. |

"The Hellenic Business Network Entrepreneurship Competition: Big Ideas" Dr. Andreas Mershin Lead Organizer HBN Big Idea Competition ( HBN-BIC)
Dr. Andreas Mershin is an entrepreneur and a postdoctoral associate at the Center for Biomedical Engineering at MIT where he develops the next generation of bio-inspired nanomaterials for sensing and energy applications. Andreas received his PhD in Physics under the guidance of world-famous theoretical physicist Prof. Dimitri Nanopoulos of Texas A&M University and Athens Academy and is co-founder of the “Molecular Frontiers Inquiry Prize” a “mini-Nobel” prize for children under the auspices of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Andreas who is a past business idea competition winner and a MIT $100K contestant, leads the HBN-BIC effort. |
